How can I work on my customer service / people skills for a job?
Posted by admin | Under people skills Friday Nov 13, 2009Ok so I am 17 and I am thinking of applying for a job at either Hot Topic or PacSun. The problem is that usually I am really shy and that would really be the death of me in those jobs. I really want to work at one of those places but I want to improve my people skills first (being more outgoing and willing to help). How can I improve myself on this?

Whenever you are around people try joining in various conversations. Like instead of waiting for someone to say something to get you talking, you take the first step. Do everything possible to get out of your bubble. It’ll take a lot of work, but if you try very hard you’ll be able to make it. Another important thing you need to have is self-confidence. If you have that, the rest will be a piece of cake.
